ABOUT clickMonick

ClickMonick is the fun and zany persona of the real Monick.

I am the real Monick. I have enjoyed photography since taking my first picture when I was about 4 years old in the 1970s. My dad let me hold his camera, inadvertently initiating my photography career soon after he told me not to click the button. I did click the button and took a picture of my uncle Alain. I grew up using my dad's 35 mm Kodak.

Flowing from this, ClickMonick takes pictures and fundraises for charity in her spare time. The photographer is also known as Rzd2life (on Instagram). The fun and zany ClickMonick is also on Instagram and Facebook although her day job has kept her on her toes and off the Tupperware antics and photo opps... for now. Click may reimagine herself into one and the same at some point when time allows.

As the real Monick, I am a Métis Ottawa lawyer, and owner of Grenier Law and Stave Law Chambers. When I am not working, I ummm, well these days, work mostly.  I've always said, "take enough pictures and you're bound to get a good one."

Looking back, I think God gifted me with a tendency to entrepreneurialism. As a minor, I developed various businesses. I may not have ever realized this ambition in my adult life, until moving back to Ottawa in 2013 (from Toronto) as a lawyer, when I could not quickly enough find a real job and decided to "hang a shingle" and start finding clients on my own. As a Christian, I attribute my victories to God, who is so good.

Past business ventures include newspaper publisher "The Glen Isle Arrow", circa 1984, readership 23; while simultaneously mortician and cemetery owner (final resting place of 14 cherished pets and random wild animals), editor-in-chief, journalist, and photographer (The Glen Isle Arrow); exclusive restaurant owner (family kitchen circa 1982); and library owner (an early and short-lived venture 1980).

Education:

Although the real Monick is a two time high school dropout, she went on to become a college dropout, and later, a university dropout. While proud of her accomplishments, she also managed to complete a few degrees, so don't give up, just keep on starting. Here they are:

B.A (Honours) - Psychology - Carleton University, 1998

M.Div - Missions - Tyndale Seminary, 2005

J.D. - Osgoode Hall Law School, 2011

L.LL - University of Ottawa Law School, 2019

Awards & Nominations:

The real Monick declared herself mayor of a small community (Glen Isle), 1983

She proclaimed herself "Monick the Great", 1982, but the reception was poor to mediocre. She abandoned her t-shirt printing company shortly thereafter.
